National Development Bank PLC (the Bank) is a Sri Lanka-based banking company. The principal activity of the Bank, its subsidiaries and associate companies of the business of commercial banking, development financing, merchant banking, investment banking, leasing, housing finance, venture capital, stock broking, wealth management and property investment. As of December 31, 2012, the Bank had 70 branches. As of the same date, its subsidiaries and associates included NDB Capital Holdings PLC, Development Holdings (Pvt) Ltd., NDB Stockbroking (Pvt) Ltd., NDB Investment Bank Ltd., NDB Capital Ltd. (Bangladesh), NDB Wealth Management Ltd. and NDB Industrial Estates (Pvt) Ltd.

Due to the merger proposal announced by the CBSL via its road map 2014, DFCC and NDB issued a preliminary statement on 10/01/2014 saying talks will begin shortly regarding merger.
